“Drawings so real they breathe”
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Though age precedes him, Roger Leonard Long's mastery of contemporary photo-realistic portraiture manifests a rare and natural ability for creating convincing replications on paper. What makes his work extraordinary is not so much the seemingly impeccable capturing of a likeness but the thought that a pencil created it all.
Roger's self-styled and detailed trompe l'oeil technique is why he has a reputation for outstanding work. To date, he has completed hundreds of graphite and color portrait works. His clients include legendary musical artists Timbaland, B.B. King and Ginuwine as well as numerous corporate and private collectors.
From his studio, Portrait Phenomena, in Ridgeland, Mississippi, the artist works at leaving a savory legacy of drawings that transcend their medium by appearing to possess the capabilities of beings who live and breathe.
